Meter Walk is developed by Michael Stanley. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app or contact us.

Information stored in the app
Meter Walk stores the information you choose to enter or capture. This may include meter names, types, serial numbers, location labels, suppliers, units, readings, dates, photographs and notes.
It also stores tariff details, billing periods, amounts, readings shown on bills, bill photographs, appliance information, calculation assumptions and your preferences.
Photographs of bills may contain personal information, such as your name, address or supplier account number. These details remain part of the stored photograph even if they are not needed for the app’s calculations. Avoid including information you do not need.
How your information is used
The app processes your records on your device to calculate consumption, compare tariffs, check bills against your readings, display historical charts and prepare exports. Appliance estimates use the power ratings and operating times you enter.
Meter Walk does not connect to your utility account, retrieve records from your supplier or send readings to your supplier automatically.
Photo and text recognition
Meter Walk processes meter and bill images on your device to recognize numbers and other relevant details. Images are not uploaded to the developer or an external recognition service for this purpose.
You must check and confirm recognized information before it is saved. You can enter readings manually if you prefer not to use the camera or if recognition is unsuccessful.
Local storage and backups
Meter Walk does not require an account. Your app records are stored locally on your device, and the developer does not operate a server containing copies of your meters, readings, bills or photographs.
We cannot remotely access or recover records stored only on your device.
Depending on your device settings and the app’s backup configuration, app data may be included in an Apple-managed device backup or a backup you create on a computer. These backups are separate from the app’s local storage and are managed through the relevant device or service.
Permissions and reminders
Meter Walk requests camera access when you choose to take a photograph. If you decline, you can still enter readings manually.
If you choose to attach an existing image or import a backup, the app accesses the items you select through the relevant system picker.
